Any person who is a survivor of a criminal act who has suffered bodily or psychological injury or death, or who has lost earnings or support, may apply to the Crime Victims Compensation Board. You are not required to file a police report in order to be eligible for Crime Victims Compensation assistance.
Benefits include the following:
- Medical expenses or other services (including mental health counseling) necessary as a result of the injury upon which the claim is filed
- Funeral expenses
- Loss of earnings
- Replacement of glasses or corrective lenses, provided they were broken or damaged during the crime
