Throughout the year, Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center takes part in many events, some of which are hosted by BRCC and some of which benefit BRCC. We love having the opportunity to collaborate with our community and bring the bluegrass together to work towards a violence-free Kentucky.
The signature event of the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, the Black and White Ball is celebrated annually to recognize the work of our agency. Guests are invited to wear black or white attire, and are offered a unique experience each year.
In November of 2015, BRCC launched our first annual conference for college students and administrators to address sexual assault on campuses. The goal of Impact 10 was to help the institutions of higher education in the Bluegrass develop a collaborative approach to campus sexual assault. Topics included Title IX proceedings, rights and responsibilities on campus, and nationwide prevention models. Impact 10: A Campus Collaborative to Uproot Sexual Violence provided a space for professors, counselors, students, risk management professionals, Title IX officers, and many others to work on creating a more transparent and open campus culture-one that does not tolerate sexual violence.
Many thanks to our sponsors, who truly made this conference possible, and to those who attended, presented, or helped during the planning stage. Together, we have built the foundations of a network that will continue to fight for campus safety and justice for survivors of sexual assault. Stay tuned to learn more about Impact 10 2016!
