Get help at BRCC.
If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can find help and support at the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. Free and confidential services are available:
- Toll-free 24-hour hotline (1.800.656.4673)
Counselors are always available to provide support, information, education, and referrals.
- Medical Advocacy
A BRCC counselor can meet you in the hospital emergency room directly after an assault to provide support through the medical process, help you obtain needed medical information, and provide referrals as necessary.
- Legal Advocacy
If you decide to report an assault to the police, a trained crisis counselor can accompany you to the police department to provide support. While we are not legal experts can also accompany you to court hearings relating to a sexual assault and act as an advocate by helping you to navigate what can sometimes be a complicated and confusing legal system.
- Crisis Counseling
Face-to-face counseling is available on a short-term basis to help survivors hone and gain tools to get through day-to-day activities that may be impacted by their recent sexual trauma.
Longer-term, face-to-face therapy sessions are a collaboration between a therapist and a survivor that facilitates the relief of disturbing feelings, beliefs, and/or physical sensations that can develop as a result of traumatic experiences.
- Group Programs
BRCC offers several opportunities for survivors to participate in group programming. To learn more about our group programs, please visit our Group Therapy page.
